I think it started off slow – 3D gaming was introduced with Killzone 3 headlining the feature. Obviously I couldn’t watch it from my stream so I can’t comment on its effects. I think it’s good Sony is introducing this now rather then five years time if it’s the norm. Plus from what it appears it is going to be an option that you can turn on or off. Sony did announce more titles featuring the 3D option including Mortal Kombat and NBA 2K11 which is cool – as long as these copies don’t charge extra.

Next up I believe was the PlayStation Move – this was a far better presentation then Kinect. No fake dialogue – it was developers showing their products and they were all solid. This isn’t going to appeal to everyone and it’s clear from my Twitter feed that not a lot of people care about it – but that’s the beauty of Move. It’s only an optional controller scheme – you DON’T have to use it to play it. Killzone 3 will have Move support as well as some other titles but you’re not going to have to buy a Move to play it. So settle down nerds.

Then Kevin Butler took the stage – we really need him to promote PlayStation in Australia because Sony Europe have no fucking clue. His new buddy Marcus who will promote the PSP in the US will not save the PSP though – I’m going to call that system dead and the fact they didn’t spend a lot of time on the system I think proves that thought.

So then I thought the show was over. How wrong I was – LittleBigPlanet 2 was demonstrated and looked fantastic – I can’t wait to play it. Then Medal of Honor was shown and looked solid – I’m looking forward to seeing the multiplayer.

Then something I happened that I never expected to happen…

Now I don’t have a problem with Valve – they have said some things in the past but their narrow mindness has not stopped me from enjoying their games. I just wish some fanboys would get over comments made by the company and just be happy that a game like Portal 2 is coming to the PS3 if they have no other system to play this on.

PlayStation Plus was also announced – it’s basically free stuff for a small subscription fee. My only concern is the current segregation of the PlayStation markets – the US has different content to Europe/Australia so I’m hoping that we get the same or content that’s just as good as the yanks.

In other Day 2 news, Gran Turismo 5 finally got a release date of November 5, a new Twisted Metal game was showcased, Dead Space 2 on the PS3 will get Dead Space Extraction Point in HD with Move support, Assassin’s Creed 2 on the PS3 will get exclusive content, the Nintendo 3DS impressed Nintendo fanboys (go figure), a new Donkey Kong and Zelda was announced (Surprise, Surprise) as well as a new Goldeneye remake for the Wii. There was tons of other stuff and as mentioned yesterday we will dissect them all on this week’s show.

Overall though I would say today was a far more impressive day compared to Day 1 and I attribute this to both Sony and Nintendo – they both had strong shows depending on what your system of choice. If you love Sony then you got more then you could ask for and if you love Nintendo then you’re also going to be broke by the end of the year.

I can’t wait to see what Day 3 brings and to also sleep the entire night without waking up for a press conference.
