The Sims Social
We mentioned The Sims Social in the latest Mailbox – now EA has shown us what it’s all about.
It looks pretty fun.

It looks pretty fun.
So we got some more mail…
Lord of the Rings release date
Warner Bros has told us that Lord of the Rings: War of the North will launch in Australia on November 2. This really looks good and I especially like the decapitations – there’s nothing wrong with that is there?
Need for Speed: The Run Special Edition Announcement
EA has announced the special edition for Need for Speed: The Run with a trailer. I haven’t put a lot of time in to Hot Pursuit – so there’s probably not much of a chance of me getting into this despite it looking quite intriguing.
EA Sports Season Ticket
EA has announced the EA Sports Season Ticket which provides premium benefits for four titles – Madden NFL, NHL Hockey, FIFA and Tiger Woods. For 2000 MS Points ($33) you can download all four games three days before the release day (but then it will time out after three days and you can buy it digitally or in retail), 20% discount on DLC, free web content and membership recognition. The Season Ticket is available now.
The Sims 3
A new downloadable world is going to be made available for The Sims 3 featuring ski lodges, a lakefront and luxury spa – it will be called Digital Springs. Here’s a more important question – does anyone still play The Sims 3? Apparently The Sims will also be coming to Facebook – if you don’t have to pay for it then I might consider playing it on that platform. I didn’t mind the console version but I got bored of it quick.
NBA 2K12
Jordan, Magic, Bird, Dr J! Fuck yeah.
RAGE
Let’s keep the trailers rolling – Bethesda has released a new trailer for the upcoming wasteland game.
Bastion
Warner Bros has announced that Bastion will come to the PC on August 17. Todd was a fan of this game – I’m yet to download the demo but it’s on my to do list.
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
Australia will get the Skyrim special edition which will feature the Alduin Statue, The Art of Skyrim Official Art Book and a making of DVD. Shhhh… I think I can hear Todd pre-ordering.
This we talk about Borderlands 2, Kinect, Diablo III, PSOne games on the PSN and more.

Well my inbox is almost full again so let’s see what we’ve got this week.
End of Nations
Heard of End of Nations? No? Well it’s an MMORTS and the latest trailer for it can be found at http://www.endofnations.com/en/media/videos. In fact all of its trailers can be found there. But the latest one talks about the factions.
Arkham City
Stana Katic who stars in ABC’s Castle will voice Talia al Ghul in Arkham City. I’ve attached a photo if you’re like me and doesn’t know who she is.
NHL 12
A new trailer for NHL is now up. We also found it out comes out September 8 in Australia. It highlights dynamic goalies comparing NHL 11 with 12.
FIFA Manager 12
I can’t believe they still make these manager games. I had to review a couple of them when I worked on PlayStation Magazine and I had no fucking clue what I was doing. Managing a team seems like such a boring game – just add it as a mode in a full FIFA game. Wouldn’t that make more sense?
RAGE
Part 5 of the behind series focuses on the enemies in RAGE. Enjoy.
Rising Star Game brings titles to Australia
Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar, The King of Fighters XIII, DoDonPachi Resurrection, Rune Factory 3 and Cradle of Rome 2 are all coming to Australian shelves this year starting in September. Hopefully they do well and are priced fairly so that this publisher sticks around.
Lollipop Chainsaw
You guessed it – it’s a Suda 51 game and Warner Bros is bringing it to Australia. It will feature the work of my favourite videogame composer Akira Yamoaka who did the Silent Hill games and most recently Shadows of the Damned. I think this could be one to watch.
Battlefield 3 Novel
EA has announced that Andy McNab is writing a novel set in the Battlefield 3 world. I’ve never read a novel based on a video game series. If you have let us know if they’re worth reading – we’d love to here your thoughts. gameonpodcastis@gmail.com
